When I think of summer, I think of nice natural glowy skin. As the warm weather approaches I am getting ready to the changes in my makeup foundation routine. Currently I wear Studio Fix Fluid or Revlon's colorstay foundation and in my opinion they are both too heavy for the summer. Not only that but during spring/summer I spend most of my time at the park/beach/pools/amusement park/etc and honestly I don't like wearing a full face of makeup on those occasions.
With that being said...
Today I stopped by my local MAC counter to purchase MAC's Studio Moisture Tint in medium dark. I read a few reviews on makeup alley and I wanted to try it out. Studio Moisture Tint is a tinted moisturizer and ofcourse it doesn't have coverage like a foundation. However, if you have "okay" skin you can wear this with concealer and msf natural powder to set it. This should give you a nice, natural, and glowy look to your skin. This combo is fast, easy, and great whenever you are going to the park, beach, or just some fun in the sun.
I also got a sample of, MAC Mineralize Satinfinish Foundation in NC40. I'm a fan of dewy foundation in the spring/summer. It seems to have light to medium coverage and I also noticed it has glitter. I tried it on when I got home and the coverage is good enough for me. I'm unsure about the glitter though so I will have to come back and give you all an update on this after wearing it for a full day.
How about you, do you switch your foundation/makeup routine in the summer? Have you tried any of these products?

Well, I didn't really wear foundation until late last year...so I'm unsure if I'm changing, currently PhotoReady is my favorite, we shall see.
ReplyDeleteI may have to try Moisture Tint, I was always interested in it :)
Great post hun!!
I have the Mineralized Satin Finish also & really like it. I also use my Revlon Photo Ready and Maybelline Liquid Mousse foundations as cheaper alternatives.
ReplyDeleteI never wear foundation, I wear Paula Dorf's Tinted Moisturizer in JUST GLO all year round, followed by concealer, then I set it with MAC's MSF.
ReplyDeleteIn the summer I also wear tinted moisturizer If I tan I'll wear Jet Set Glo.
I think I'll try MAC's tinted moisturizer.
Summers in AZ are terribly hot and Mac face and body (C4 in Face and Body=NC40 in Studio Fix) is perfect! It is similar to a tinted moisturize and is waterproof aka sweatproof, so it is perfect for summer! I usually set is with my MSF in medium deep. The only downside is it doesn't have spf.
ReplyDeleteI love the mineralized satinfinish.
ReplyDeletei love the tinted moisturizer! :) love love love it!
ReplyDeletei use mineralize satinfinish and i really like it. i personlly don't notice the glitters on! although i think the colours are off, i'm nc30 in sff and the concealers but i'm nc35 in mineralize satinfinish.
ReplyDeleteMineralized satin finish is one of my favorites...kinda reminds me of the revlon photoready. I wanna try a tinted moisturizer too, but not sure which one to try so you should do a review of the mac one when you get a chance, =D
ReplyDeletei like mineralize satin finish also, but sometimes it can be too glowy, haha. select spf liquid is much lighter than studio fix fluid, so give that one a try too.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried either but I'd love too.
ReplyDeleteI am currently using MAC's Hyper Real Foundation in NC 400. If you're NC40 it works too. It is very light to medium coverage. Actually I can get full coverage too but I prefer not too since it has shimmer stuff in it. Perfect for Spring/Summer. When I use it I don't need to apply bronzer...only on my contouring area.
I am going to do a review on it soon. I just recently fell in loveee with it.
I have that Mac Satin Finish Foundation its great but for summer on a everyday basis I just wear Lorac ProtecTINT and some concealer then the Mac MSFN only wear that foundation for special occasions during summer. I wanted to try the Laura Mercier Flawless Face kit you should check it out seems perfect for the summer
