Love: Pink lip combo

I always find myself mixing lipsticks and glosses to create new shades. This particular combination is similar to a lot of lipstick colors that I have in my collection so it's really not anything special but it is in fact very pretty. I was originally wearing Wet n Wild Mauve Outta Here lipstick alone but it looked too bright for the look I was going for. I ended up applying NYX mega shine lip gloss in Beige over the lipstick to tone down the color just a bit and I loved the outcome. Pink barbie lips for the win!♡ I could've just changed my lip color to a softer pink lipstick but I was lazy and applying a gloss on top was much easier :)

Wet n Wild Mauve Outta Here lipstick is a berry-mauve shade. I think of this lipstick as a more "wearable/softer" version of MAC's Petals & Peacocks lipstick and also similar to MAC's Up the Amp lipstick. I couldn't find Up the Amp lipstick in my stash or else I would've included a swatch. Boo! :(

OOTD: Denim baby

Hello my lovelies,

I can't believe I'm blogging right now. The holidays always throw me off. I get used to not having to worry about school, work, or having any responsibilities but now it's back to the reality hahaha. My brother was also home for the holidays so I made sure I spent all my free time hanging out with him ♥.

Anyway, I hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I look forward to another great year blogging and meeting more beauty junkies/fashionistas.  *cheers* :D

Today's outfit was pretty casual. I was inspired by an outfit that Kim Kardashian wore sometime ago. I added a spikes necklace and wore a short sleeve v-neck instead(my job doesn't permit sleeveless tops "/).

Forever 21: Necklace, Bracelet, Striped over-sized bag, Denim Vest, and black leggings
American Apparel: White V-neck tee

I'm also wearing my current go to lip combination, MAC Fleshpot lipstick and MAC Kissable Lipcolour in So Vain.

Shoedazzle Jinan Handbag

This is my second handbag from shoedazzle. I am really impressed with the quality of each of their products. This bag in particular is amazing! You can wear it with the detachable strap across the body/on the shoulder or as an oversized clutch. The leopard print and zipper detailing give this bag an edgy-trendy look.

Product Description:
"Shimmery, confetti-like leopard print and exposed zippers add a stylish surge of electricity to any outfit. Let Jinan pop against a khaki jumpsuit during the day, and after dark, remove its strap and hold onto it against jeans and a gold-lamé camisole."

MAC Glitter and Ice Collection: Let's Skate Paint Pot

MAC's Glitter and Ice Holiday 2011 collection features paint pots, mineralized eyeshadows, Beauty powders, nail polishes lipsticks, dazzleglasses, and eye pencils. Yeah, it's a nice size collection and I only purchased one thing. Yay for me! I'm a little late blogging about this paint pot but I'm trying my best to catch up with all my posts.

Let's Skate paint pot(limited edition) is a pale pink shade with gold pearl. I described it as the paint pot version of MAC Naked pigment. This paint pot has become a go-to eye product from me. I usually wear this all over my lid or just in my inner corner to brighten up my eyes. Super gorgeous! The only thing I dislike is that it dries quickly and you have to super fast to get an even layer. I also noticed that a little goes a long way with this product. I purchased this late October and have used it nearly everyday and it has just a tiny dip.

Additional swatches ahead...

ELF Glossy Gloss

Left to Right- Berry Blush and Dragon Fruit

ELF Glossy Gloss lip glosses are available in 10 shades and are only $3. I find them quite similar to MAC Cremesheen glosses. Both glosses give a nice moisture to the lips and have no shimmer. The only difference besides the price is that Elf glossy glosses feel a little sticky.  That's not a bad thing for me, sticky glosses have better staying power. As far as color pay off, they are not very opaque but give a nice sheer tint which make them good to layer on top of a lipstick or lip liner.

I ordered shades Berry Blush and Dragon Fruit from Elfcosmetics.com thinking that they were going to be two completely different shades but they are pretty similar once applied. Online Berry Blush looks like a soft nude and Dragon Fruit looks like a barbie pink. The swatches on ELF's site are NOT true to color.  Before ordering I recommend looking up swatches.

Left to Right
Berry Blush is a berry-pink shade.
Dragon Fruit is a slightly coral-pink shade.

♥ Brush Applicators are my favorite!

ELF Glossy Gloss packaging is identical to Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipglosses.

Outfit of the day: Autumn leaves

I was in South Carolina attending my brother's Army Basic Training graduation a week ago. While I was there I fell in love with a gorgeous tree that stands in a empty field surrounded by mostly leafless trees on a road that we took daily to get to the army base. Well, I made sure we stopped there to take a picture before we flew back home. Isn't this tree just beautiful? I'm going to have to hire my sister as my personal photographer and maybe I will be able to post more Outfit of the Day posts :)

I'm wearing...

Black Coat from Forever 21
White Long Cami from H&M
Black Leggings from American Apparel
Black Knee High Flat boots from Chinese Laundry
Black leather gloves from Nordstrom
Orange Scarf with print from Marshalls
Leopard Suede Handbag from Forever 21

* I originally was wearing this outfit with a leopard print scarf and red lips but changed the scarf and nude'd out my lips to coordinate with my friend, the tree.

Hope everyone had a great and happy Thanksgiving!
-Jo
